Respect in Sport

The Respect in Sport program is an online certification program designed to protect our youth as well as enhance Hockey Alberta's mandate of providing a safe and fun environment for all of our participants. It is a mandatory requirement for all parents and team officials in Alberta since its inception in the 2012/13 season.

Info for New Parents and Returning Parents

Hockey Alberta requires all parents to take the Hockey Canada Respect in Sport program.

Returning parents are required to re-certify every 4 seasons.  If your certification was completed in 2015 or prior, you will need to complete the program again for the 2019-20 Season.

Returning parents also must add their new hockey player to the child management section of the RIS portal.

There is a cost for this program required by Hockey Alberta.

Info for Coaches

If you are interested in coaching or assistant coaching there is an additional Respect in Sport program required.

Please see the Coaching Requirements for more information.
