I am playing an exhibition game against a team from the same Hockey Alberta Zone, do I need a travel permit?

Q. I am playing an exhibition game against a team from the same Hockey Alberta Zone, do I need a travel permit? 

Yes. At the start of the hockey season a blanket permit may be issued to cover all travel within your zone.
Other than this, the regulations in 11.5 are to be followed (Exhibition games).

Some LMHA's may require that all teams obtain permission.

 

Q. Do I need a travel permit to play an exhibition game or go to a tournament? 

You only require a travel permit if you plan on travelling outside of your Zone. (i.e. Whitecourt travels to Red Deer for a tournament). Some LMHA's may require that all teams obtain permission. (See map above)

 

Q. I am playing an exhibition game against another team from our league, do I need a travel permit? 

Anytime you are playing an exhibition or tournament game in a center outside your zone, whether it be a team your normally play against in your league or not, you are required to obtain a travel permit.  HA reg 11.5 and 12.1.1.   You must request the travel permit through your Association Permit Coordinator.  You must submit your games sheets for such games to your Zone Discipline coordinator as per Reg 11.7 and 13.2.2.  You do not require a travel permit if the center you are travel to, is within your Zone.

Some LMHA's may require that all teams obtain permission.

              

Q. Do teams need a travel permit to practice out of zone? 

No

Example

An Atom team in Leduc (Zone 4) has some practice ice in Sherwood Park (Zone 7). They do not require a travel permit to practice.

Q. Do I need a Travel permit to go out of the Province? 

Yes

Example

A Midget team wants to attend a tournament in Saskatoon. They require a travel permit.
